Flash technology is near the end of it’s lifecycle. HTML5 is rapidly replacing Flash. According to Fast Company, only 10% of all websites still deliver Flash video. In this regard, our Content Delivery Network (CDN) partner will no longer support Flash streaming, which may affect your video playback. In order to assure that your videos will continue to play afterwards, all accounts that are still using Flash streaming will be transitioned to Progressive playback in the near future.
The first step will be transitioning any adaptive or RTMP streaming delivery to Progressive. This will be done on Viddler's back end and will not require any customer changes. Below is a table showing if your playback will be impacted:
|Current Player||Current Delivery Option||Updated Delivery Option|
As a second step, you will be able to transition to adaptive streaming playback within the Arpeggio player. Viddler will enable the capability on the platform. Clients can then update their settings for the preferred delivery option. See this article for details.
Embed Code Impact
The above updates will not require any embed code changes.
