Streaming Changes Coming Soon!
Flash technology is near the end of it's lifecycle. HTML5 is rapidly replacing Flash. In that regard, our Content Delivery Network (CDN) partner has notified us they will be deprecating Flash streaming video delivery over the next month.
This change will only affect customers who are still using
the Flash player with streaming or adaptive delivery.
What does this mean for me?
- If you are using Viddler's HTML5 player, Arpeggio - no impact
- If you are using Viddler's Flash player with progressive playback - no impact
- If you are using Viddler's Flash player with streaming delivery - delivery will be transitioned to progressive
- If you are using Viddler's Flash player with adaptive delivery- delivery will be transitioned to progressive
If I am using the Flash player, do I have to do anything?
Not immediately. This article is to make you aware that if you are using streaming or adaptive delivery we will be transitioning you to progressive delivery over the next few weeks. You can verify your video delivery option under Default Setting > Delivery Options tab. See the support article for detailed steps.
Please check out our Support Page for more details. Our support team is always here to help answer any questions you have.
We will be following up later with a specific date if your delivery needs to be transitioned to progressive.
