Playlists have several functions within the Viddler platform. They can be used to organise videos, embed those collections of videos into a single player, and within our Subscriptions tool.

Creating a playlist
To create a new playlist, navigate to your Playlists page and click 'New Playlist'. Choose whether you want a Regular, Smart, or Subscriptions playlist.
Regular - A regular playlist is one which you're able to add videos to manually by selecting them from a lightbox window.
Smart - A smart playlist has extra attributes which allow videos to be automatically added to the playlist based on tags, views, and/or the permission of the videos. See also our Smart Playlist Workflow article.
Subscriptions - A subscription playlist is the same as a regular playlist, but it also creates a new Subscription Set under the same title. You will need to further edit the details of the Set from your Subscriptions. This playlist option will only be seen if you have access to our Subscriptions tool.
Embedding a playlist
To embed a playlist, click on the name of the playlist, then click 'Embed playlist'. This will then take you to a page where you can customise the look and functionality of that video playlist. Please see our full documentation on how to embed a playlist. (Note: We used to refer to a 'Playlist Embed' as Vidgets. This term is no longer used for playlists from April, 2014.)
